311 Makes Christmas Wish Come True · Dec 9, 11:05 AM

According to security officials at Baltimore’s Harbour Court Hotel, drummer Chad Sexton, and rapper SA Martinez sudddenly went ape shit on Scott Stapp; Creed’s singer and grammy award winner for “Arms wide open,” tenderizing him with their fists like Thanksgiving meat.

Both bands share the same producer. Sexton told the associated press that they’d met with Stapp earlier that day, and experienced no problems. Hotel security camera footage shows that the fight which took place later that night was instigated by Sexton and Martinez, not Stapp. “It was definitely started by 311,” said Johnathan Jordan, director of security for the luxury hotel.

It happened like this:

P-Nut, Chad and SA were all sitting at the bar watching basketball when Stapp came into the bar and stepped in front of the TV saying “311, I’m ready to fight.” They told him to shut up and go away, which he did. After a couple more hours of drinking Stapp approached SA’s wife with his “arms wide open” who reported this incident to her husband. Finally Stapp asked Sexton to play a game of fisticuffs and his wish was granted. SA jumped in on the fun and even broke a pinky finger from bludgeoning, he was rushed to the hospital. “It was an unfortunate incident,” Sexton said. “We are not brawlers.” Sexton claims that Stapp threw the first punch, not him. Security cameras tell a different story.

Or it could’ve happened like this:

Chad and SA were all sitting at the bar watching basketball when Stapp came into and stepped in front of the TV saying “311, I’m ready to go sit in the hot tub!” They told him “thats nice” and “maybe later.” Slightly upset by the band’s stand offishness, Stapp went back to his hotel room where he wrote a poem about his feelings. Reappearing several hours later, Stapp again stepped in front of the TV saying “I wrote a song about the way I feel, here it goes…” then the boys from 311 beat him silly. They quickly called P-Nut’s room and collaborated the story about Stapp’s previous “drunken aggression”, rushed SA to the hospital for a finger cast (SA always did want to ride in an ambulance after all), and smoked a joint to celebrate.

Officers were never called to the hotel, no complaints or charges were officially filed, and Stapp recieved no permanent injuries to his beautiful face.
